Grade-Buster Q5 Creative writing

It's all about the conscious crafting of language. Examiners don't need complicated stories; they need thoughtful and imaginative use of language. This session will deliver a clear "To Do" list to move through that markscheme.

Grade-Buster Unseen Poetry

Assessing an unseen poem can be terrifying for students. They do not need to understand every word but do need the confidence to make good choices regarding what to talk about.  I will supply a simple process and a top tip list of what to include.

Grade-Buster Q5 Non Fiction

Speech, article, leaflet, essay, letter? I'll remind students about the conventions for each and give them a clear checklist of what to include.

Grade-Buster Analysis Zoom In

This applies to every paper in Language and Literature. Students can often tell us what they feel about a piece of writing but don't tell us why. This session will give a check list of what to do when zooming in on evidence to deliver the most convincing analysis. This is important everywhere!
